The Eastern Veil is the bright eastern section of the Veil Nebula supernova remnant in the constellation Cygnus, cataloged as Caldwell 33 and including NGC 6992 and NGC 6995. It appears as rope-like filaments of glowing gas created by the shock waves of a massive star's explosion roughly 5,000–10,000 years ago.
