This image is rather special. It was a full team effort to gather data for more than 26 hours, in the early stages of the StarShadowObservatory: Rick Gilbert, John Pierce, and the famous, Jack Harvey. It was a multi-panel mosaic and the software in those days was also very young so stitching everything together in Ha, RG&B was a real feat. It became an Astro Photo of the Day (APOD) and from there, National Geographic editors saw it and contacted me. Our Team agreed to provide the NG right to publish it and they gave it a 2 page spread in the first (I believe) SPACE Edition of National Geographic. I reprocessed this recently using the original data as well as extracting Oiii and S2 and Ha2
